I stood in line for 6+ hours under the hot Tennessee sun in line for this today.  A Third Man representative informed us that there was a 300 person occupancy for this event.  Our neighbors in line counted to see how many people were in front of us: 111.  We had some friends further up the line that wanted us to cut in line with them, but we were confident that we would get in and didn’t want to be “that guy”, so we declined.  About an hour before the show people slowly but surely started joining their friends in line.  We were a little concerned, but still confident that we would make it to the show.  The line started moving and things were looking good, but with literally ten people in front of us, the venue was at capacity.  I guess being nice doesn’t always pay off.  On the plus side I did get to see Coco and Andy Richter for about a split second.  It definitely wasn’t worth the trouble though.  Oh well, c’est la vie.

When I got home, I started thinking about it: if this is the worst thing that’s happened to me in a while, I have a very blessed life.  Even “sucky” days can sometimes help give me a little perspective.
